Twosheepus (/twosheepus/ [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Small Town located in Gàiēcèp County, Dāmêvr Kingdom, within the Sylvanian Empire.

The name Twosheepus is derived from the Sylvin language, as Twosheepus was founded by Yavrobella Major, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Twosheepus has a yearly average temperature of 19°C (66°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 12°C (53°F). Twosheepus receives an average of 244 cm/y (96 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Twosheepus covers an area of nearly 3 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 3276 m (10748 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Twosheepus was founded durring the early 16th century in winter of the year 1510, by Yavrobella Major. The establishment of Twosheepus was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Yavrobella Major electing to pay people to resettle in Twosheepus.

Twosheepus was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Twosheepus is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Twosheepus is buildings are speckled and packed arround crampt paverstone streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the town's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a town. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Twosheepus's somewhat suffishent are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

A look around Twosheepus makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had. Everyone quietly goes about their daily business not looking anyone in the eye.

Twosheepus has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Twosheepus is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Twosheepus's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its striking sculptural forms and often dazzling ornamental detail that characterizes the buildings general shape. The radiant colors, rich patterns, and symmetrical silhouettes employed by this style were backed up by rich decorative features including gardens, courtyards, extruded arches, domes, pointed domes, vaulted ceilings, elaborate painted and inlaid designs, and decorative sculptures.

The Boggard near Twosheepus are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Twosheepus's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves square dance to channel Summoning energies of tier 1 via divine sermons.

Considerable local tension likely exists over controlling the access to the site and maximizing the profits from foreign visitors.

Twosheepus's is something of a geological and arcane anomaly, as neither physical nor magical law entirely explains its formation.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century heavy spring rains following an uncharacteristically dry year and a minor earthquake resulted in the collapse of the north side of Calamity Valley. the landslide struck Twosheepus, and devastated the community. 178 people, 224 livestock, and 45 buildings were lost to the calamity. The disaster is recorded in history as Calamity's Fall.
